Dr. Angela Stephens

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Angela Stephens is the new owner and only doctor for Walks of Life Chiropractic. She was raised on a small farm in Iowa and later made her home in Texas. While studying equine science and pre-veterinary medicine at Iowa State University, she discovered her passion for chiropractic care. Angela earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic. As an animal enthusiast and barrel racer, she recognized the benefits of chiropractic care for animals. This led her to complete the animal chiropractic program at Options for Animals and earn certification through the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA) and has been working on humans and animals since 2015. Angela now practices in both Texas and Colorado.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is animal chiropractic care?

Animal chiropractic is a complementary care that works alongside your veterinarian. The chiropractor finds and corrects subtle spinal joint misalignments (subluxations) that can interfere with brain-body communication, and improves joint mobility throughout the body.

Do chiropractic adjustments hurt my animal?

No. Adjustments are gentle, safe, and specific movements of the joints performed by hand. Improvement is often dramatic, though in severe cases a series of adjustments may be necessary.

How do I know if my animal needs chiropractic care?

Signs include unexplained lameness, not reaching expected performance potential, avoiding certain postures or movements, resistance to work, gait abnormalities, or after falls and accidents. Remember — maybe it is not that the animal won't, it is maybe that the animal can't.

Is chiropractic treatment safe?

Absolutely. Chiropractic is considered one of the safest forms of health care. It avoids the risks associated with drugs and surgery by relying on the body's own natural ability to heal and improve itself.

What areas do you serve?

We provide mobile services primarily across Colorado's Front Range, including El Paso, Pueblo, Elbert, Douglas, Jefferson, Fremont, Teller, Arapahoe, and Adams counties. Dr. Stephens travels from Texas to Colorado for appointments.
